Many plants are started from seed because it is a quick and economical method. A seed is a small embryonic plant enclosed in a covering called the seed coat, usually with some stored food.
The formation of the seed completes the process of reproduction in seed plants. Below is the structure of a seed.
Plant propagation means multiplication of plants with the aim to achieve increase in number and preserve the essential characteristics of the mother plant. Plant are propagated either sexually or vegetative. There are several types of vegetative propagation in plants include budding, grafting, layering, cutting, division and micro propagation.
